In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

From Bono...

Pride (In The Name Of Love)

One man come in the name of love
One man come and go.
One man come he to justify
One man to overthrow.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed up on an empty beach
One man betrayed with a kiss.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
Early morning, April four
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky.
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.

I recently told the Queen that if I had to pick a song that was "you" that it would have to be Pride-In the Name of Love. As for Mlk I like the way he lead people forward. I've noticed some recent "leaders" aren't really leaading the black community forward. I hear things from Jesse Jackson like, "Yes, you are now free but you're oppressed. We need to take back what was taken from us." I could quote others who share in that mentality but I will control myself before I get too political and maybe nasty. HEE HEE.

Are you there yet? Of course you are! I trusted God on your behalf and I know you and your family are safely there with grandparents. NO, that was in no way smoozing! I love you honorable Knight.

To the "Queen Mum" (is that alright?) I'm very honored by you're choice of song for me.

Very honored.

Oh, and thank you for your prayers; this flight was one of the smoothest I've had in a while.

God bless!

"Queen Mum"..hmmm I will request an audience with the Queen when she returns from the Royal Christian School. Getting it through Parliment might be another thing...

You should know that the kingdom will want to name your madre as well. It's just I can see it coming.

Speaking of U2 and MLK I'm working on a little essay and could use some help. Essentially the essay is on love and God in their lyrics. I'm looking specifically at the albums from Joshua Tree to Zooropa, but lyrics from other albums could be helpful. Basically I always found that there was a change in their lyrics concerning God between these albums similar to the change of musical styles that came in those albums. Any thoughts?
