I need you to help me! I need your list to be twenty songs long, not ten. You see, you (my readers) have such varied tastes that only a handful of songs even got voted for twice. Like I said, this is my mistake and I know that at least one of my readers will think unpleasant thoughts after reading this post. I'm sorry!
Remember the deadline's Christmas day. Oh and for order's sake please do not post any lists which are subject to change; I'm accepting all lists I see as final. Thank you, and once again I'm terribly sorry about all of this.

Now that is just not right! If you only knew the agony I went threw paring my list down to ten, and now I have to go back and do it all over again. My wife is going to hurt you.
Now that is a list cow princess! Contemporary Christian, Weird Al, Frank Sinatra, clay Aiken and some raunchy Beatles! Bravo!
I was going to go back and edit my original top ten plus research and think hard on what 11-20 would be but I have one more day before I leave for Paris and there is much to do. I'll skip the comments on the first ten and add an additional ten off the top of my head.
1. Ripple by the Grateful Dead
2. In My Life by the Beatles
3. We've Got a World That Swings by They Might Be Giants
4. Don't Think Twice, It's Alright by Bob Dylan

9. Angel From Montgomery by John Prine
10. Love at the Five and Dime by Nanci Griffith
11. Jackson by Lucinda Williams from the album Car Wheels on a Gravel Road (a heartbreaking song about leaving someone you love)
12. Angel Flying Too Close To the Ground by Willie Nelson from many Willie Nelson albums (a heartwrenching song about letting go of the things you love so they can fly)
13. No Woman, No Cry by Bob Marley the live version on his greatest hits album is absolutely killer
14. Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash (greatest kareoke song ever)
15. What a Time by Bruce Hornsby from the album Harbor Lights
16. Harvest Moon by Neil Young from the album Harvest Moon (although I once heard an unnamed female artist cover it and it laid me on the ground, but I never discovered who she was)
17. Fly Me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra (another one killing my no standards rule, but Frank made this a standard and it's bloody Sinatra man!)
18. The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel (I prefer the live version with the extra lyric from their 1980 concert in central park, but any version will do)
19. Dead Flowers by the Rolling Stones from the Sticky Fingers album (the Townes Van Zandt version from the Big Lebowski soundtrack is also steller)
20. Across the Great Divide by Kate Wolf from the album Close to You (although Nanci Griffith does a masterful version on her Other Voices Other Rooms album)

So there you have it !! It is so easy to rattle off your favorite songs, but put them in order??? That was tough, but a nice challenge!
Dear Foolish Knight, may I be evil and change the song for #20? Okay, Switch switchfoot with 'Maybe Tomorrow' by Nouveaux;) Thank you and sorry for the dreadful inconvenience I just caused you!
Ok, here it is in full form. These are a few of my favorite songs, and I was tempted at first to put up a bunch of songs, that, although were cool and made my list look eclectic, they really weren't my favorites. So I replaced them with second songs for particular artists. Anyway, I put the original artist who wrote the song, not the most recent (i.e. Joni Mitchell, not Counting Crows, for 'Big Yellow Taxi'), because it that artist's song, even if another artist did the song better later on.
