Smells like... List-O-Matic!

Speaking of Bob Dylan; guess who's song was picked by Rolling Stone magazine as the best song of all time on their list of The 500 Best Songs Ever. Good guess.

If that list isn't big enough then maybe this one of The New York Times 1000 Best Movies Of All Time will satisfy you.

Overwhelmed by the large numbers? How about a list with just one hundred selections on it?

If it's movies you want then The Arts & Faith Top 100 Spiritually Significant Films list is probably the one for you

If books, then look no further than Image Journal's similarly themed list of 100 books.

The only reason they picked him is because he sings' Like a Rolling Stone' They really wanted to pick John Lennon or at least the Beatles! Now, now, I know you really like him, so I'll try to Let it Be.( I feel a song coming on)

Oooooh, lists! I love those. I had seen the top 100 spiritual movies list before, but not the 1000 movies nor the spiritual books. Good stuff thanks. And Rolling Stone lists, though generally quite fun to read are often way off of my choices. Like a Rolling Stone is neither the best song ever, nor even Dylans best. It's a fun list to go through anyway. I wish they put on their website why they made the choices they did.

I do, in fact, love lists. I find them immensely entertaining and a very good way of finding new material to enjoy. And they often provide a lot of fodder for discussion. Though most of it is opinion, a good list will also look at some factual information (popularity, has the song held up in time, influence on others, etc). So what artist or song would you guys put in the top spot? Sorry if I sound like I'm trashing anyones opinion here. I have a lot of extra time these days and am trying to have a little discussion. No harm intended.

Mat, I think that if you click on the song's name on the 500 songs list you'll find some explaination for the song's placement.
