WWJW

Sorry, I don't have a lot of time so this is going to be rough (and short).

I think that God probably wants you to watch Steve Taylor's movie The Second Chance, on February 17.

Steve Taylor is one of my new heroes, not because of his great music, or the fact that he's a wonderful producer, but something more, what he's doing now to be precise. I mean to put that kind of career on hold, and mortgage your house to go into the SUICIDAL world of filmmaking (more on that later) just because God is leading you there. Well, that's just crazy, however poetic it might be.

Not only is it crazy but it's something I plan on doing one of these days, God willing. So please, go out and see this film on opening weekend and, if it helps, pretend it was me who made it.

Don't worry Renee, director Steve Taylor is just as aware of what the church (and Christian pop culture) is doing wrong as you are, he's built his career on graciously pointing out the church's flaws and encouraging her to set things right. This film promises to do the same.

But isn't it poetic? We'll all support you in your poetical suicidalness! (Which technically isn't anything to worry about since it's Gods will!)

And I'll definitely go support Stevie if it comes out here, I watched the trailer, looks very good. They can take the singer out of Nashville, but they can't take the Nashville out of his voice!

Hmmm... Sounds interesting. I'm going to have to see it to give an opinion. Every time I see Michael W. Smith I think of "Friends are friends forever". It will be hard to get over. ;-)

So Steve is moving on to bigger things. I'll ALWAYS have the image of him in my mind wearing the superhero suit for Bannerman. It was a long time ago, when the world only saw him as a weirdo instead of a man with vision. He certainly dared to be different. I was telling Gary about the movie and we are excited because it will be one we can surely see.

Let's see if it comes out here before I say "YES!"

If Steve Taylor can pull it off, which I know he can, and Michael W. Smith can pull it off, which I desperately want him to, it might just be the great movie I'm expecting it to be.
Actually, it's a movie that I'm really excited about! Christians will probably show up in droves to see it, which will be interesting to see it be successful in the box office.
