Sorry, Can't Blog Now!

I'm reading Marilynne Robinson's Gilead!

I'll try to let you know more about it when I'm done, but all I know for now is that this (Ms. Robinson's second novel) is the story of an ageing pastor who, in a letter to his seven year-old son, takes a long look back on his life. This first person narritive won this year's Pulitzer Prize and is so far quite beautiful and reflective.

Hey, why don't you see if you can't find yourself a copy and we'll read it together? (Sorry, slipped into Mr. Rogers mode there; it's late here. And I'm off to bed, uh, after I read Gilead of course.)

Oh! Sure, I'll 'rush right out' and get it. The only problem with that is I can't drive! I did however look at the library, and they do not have it, pooh.

I am progressing on my never-ending quest to drive! I drove all over the place the other day!( And we only almost died once!) So maybe I can drive to get the book when I get my license, if it's not oout of print by then.

Wow! I'm shocked! (About you driving all over the place, not about only cutting it close once.) I myself got my permit a couple of weeks ago (for ID purposes), but I still haven't done much (any) driving yet.

I've heard great things about that book, hopefully someday, when school isn't taking up my every waking hour, I might read it.
(Ok, complaining over.)

I'll be glad to add this to my list. I only get to read a few minutes before bed time. This means it takes FOREVER to read a book. Oh well, at least I'm reading again. It only took 11 me 11 years! Wow, now that I look back on it, going into the work force when Lukolas was 4 was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. That decision not only hindered reading, but many other things as well. Yes, sometimes moms have to work. I'm so thankful things have changed.
